2019-2020 Queen of the Furrow
is Allison Pepper from Chesley.
Bruce County competitors were winners at the 2019 International Plowing Match in Verner, West Nippissing. Daily class winners included Scott Thomas in the walking plow category in horse plowing (class 1-1) were he placed 1st on one day.. He was joined by tractor plowers Tom Evans (5-2) X1, Tom Thede (6-2) X3 and Braden Woefle (7-1) X1; Bruce County competitors claimed a total of 6 first place lands.
In addition, Tom Thede was named the Champion of Class 6 Group 2 and was the second highest overall scoring antique plowman. This earned him the title of Reserve Ontario Antique Champion. A tremendous achievement!
Tom Evans placed 3rd in the Ontario Class and has qualified for the Canadian Championship next year in Manitoba.

Tom Evans of Tiverton represented Canada for the second time at the World Ploughing Contest this summer in Minnesota, USA. The competition was be held on Aug 30 & 31st near Baudette, MN across the border from Rainy River, Ontario. He placed 15th out of 24 competitors in the reversible category.
Bruce County competitor Mackenzie Reinhart placed 4th in reversible plowing at the national championship held at Sunderland, Ontario.
The 2019 Bruce County Plowing Match was held on Friday, August 30, 2019 on the farm of John Husk, Kinloss; on Provincial Highway 9 just west of County Road 1.
